Tapestry in progress and other news
This is my current tapestry. The piece will be3 ft. wide 4 ft. high. The tapestry was inspired by a walk into Bryce Canyon. Click on thumbnail for larger view.
News: Stafford Hospital Center, Stafford, VA recently purchases 2 tapestries for their permanent art collection. This was arranged through the FPS Group which specializes in original fine art for health care facilities.
I have been invited to exhibit my tapestries at the Shenandoah Valley Art Center in Waynesboro for the month of February.The exhibit will be called Tapestry Journeys. Visit the Shenandoah Valley Art Center website. for more details.
Online Exhibit: The LAND exhibit from Australia is now on the American Tapestry Alliance website. Land Exhibit. My piece A Place for Conversation is in Gallery Four. All these tapestries are no higher than 4 inches by any length. Weavers from all over the world participated.
I have had a piece accepted into the US Department of State Art in Embassies program. The tapestry,Along the Blue Ridge Parkway will be on exhibit at the US Embassy in Managua, Nicaragua for 2 years. The State Department places art in our embassies throughout the world in order to showcase various types of art from American artists. The tapestry is 47” wide by 30” high.
