Tapestry in progress and other news

New tapestry started! It is always very  exciting to start a new piece. This one will be 2 ft. wide by 4 ft. high.. I did a watercolor/collage trying to capture the feeling of the abundance of color in spring but not be too representational. After doing the collage, I warped a small loom and worked on sample colors and various color blending. I left the ends hanging off the sides of the small sample  loom so I can easily tell which color had what yarns for each combination. The piece is now started with about 9 inches woven.

This tapestry was recently finished. For the first time I created the design on my ipad. The tapestry was   woven sideways  and is 24 inches high  by 48 inches wide. Loom is waiting for the next tapestry to start.

The tapestry below  was just finished before the one above. It is called Village Path  and was taken from a path I saw in France several years ago. Finished size is 24 inches wide by 54 inches high.
